The second leg of Runyenjes football kicked off successfully on Sunday with all five matches on the fixture played to conclusion.
Ena and Kavangua (both from Kagaari South) avenged first-leg losses to Gikuuri and Stunners respectively. Ena avenged a 3-1 first leg loss with a 3-0 reply while Kavangua came two short of correcting the 5-0 first leg loss, winning 3-1.
Kisimani (Kyeni North) Kathunguri (Kyeni South) and Shaolin Soccer (Kyeni South) completed doubles over Nthagaiya, Kanja, and Runyenjes respectively.
The losing teams, however, showed great improvement and made the top cream sweat for the three points. Nthagaiya reduced the 7-1 first leg loss to 1-0, Kanja improved from the 3-1 loss in the reverse fixture as they were edged 2-3 while Runyenjes moved away from the 5-1 reverse fixture loss to fall 2-1.
Sunday’s results mean the table positions remain largely unchanged, with Kavangua and Nthagaiya being the only movers. Kavangua moved a place up to ninth while Nthgaiya dropped to tenth.
Kisimani continues to lead the way with 30 points, five more than second-placed Ena. Iriari did not have a match in this round and remain bottom of the log.
