Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier has confirmed that as it stands, Matthews Ottamaxx is still Keeper Trainer at the club.
The Green Army chairman expressed shock on the reports that head coach Ze Maria had sacked Ottamaxx wondering where the Brazilian got the powers to fire from.
The veteran former goalkeeper had earlier expressed his dissatisfaction with the head coach in his social media account.
He wrote a post to confirmed that he had been relieved off his duties.
The post read, ” A blank firing coach decides to fire his goalkeeping coach…maybe this will solve his scoring problems! Mine is to say a BIG THANK YOU to Gor Mahia players, staff, the executive office and our loving fans for everything we achieved as a family during the three and a half seasons I was with you. I remain loyal to my Mother Club.”
The League defending champions has recently been on a poor run of results with the most recent being knocked out of Gotv Shield Cup after losing 1-0 the National Super League leaders Nzoia Sugar at the Mumias Complex on Sunday.
Some are attributing the poor run to the romoured disunity in the dressing room.
