It is in order to first applaud the Mwendwa-led Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for their support towards Harambee Stars, something that was conspicuously missing in previous regimes. Kenyans are now getting accustomed to Harambee Stars playing FIFA friendly matches during international breaks. The reward for the effort is also evident because the national team is impressively rising in FIFA rankings.
Kenya is lined up to play Mozambique and Liberia on 12th and 15th November respectively. Head Coach Stanely Okumbi has released the foreign-based squad in preparation of the friendlies.
Rama Salim, who was impressive in the last friendly match against Congo DR- a match Kenya won, is missing as he is sorting out some issues with his club MFK Topvar Topolcany. Ayub Timbe is another notable player expected to miss out in the matches.
South African-based Clifton Miheso makes a return to the national team after missing out for some time. Captain Victor Wanyama also makes a return after missing out in the Congo DR match.
