The Embu County League second leg gained footing on Sunday as three of the four matches on the cards went ahead without a hitch. Inter Dunga, Triumph, Kangami, Mwamba, Black Cats and league leaders Man U were all in action. The fourth match of the day, Faith vs Yatte, was postponed since the school side is still away for the holidays.
Manchester kept their impressive form as they edged Black Cats 1-0 at Mois stadium to retain a healthy five-point lead at the top of the log.
Meanwhile, Inter Dunga returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-1 over Mwamba at Njukiri Showground. Goals from Ocham Salim, Hashim Kahiga and Rodgers Pogba earned last season’s runners up a much needed win as they showed they are still in the running despite falling seven points off the pace.
The day’s surprise result was a 3-0 loss suffered by Triumph away at Kangami. Coming into the match, Triumph sat third with 38 points while Kangami were ninth with 21 points. The win saw triumph retain third position and Kangami leapfrog Blac Cats to go eigth.
Yatte have a match against triumph slotted for Sunday but it could still be pushed forward as schools are yet to open. Inter Dunga should be travelling to Kathanjuri but the latter’s continued participation in the league is still in doubt. 3K will be at home against St. Lwanga, Mwamba travel to Ugweri while Kangami hop on the bus to Kithimu.
